Rebuilding templates with semantic markup
Octopus Energy had over 150 emails relying on a handful of templates, all of which needed to be rebuilt using the correct markup
Outside of the email development, I also created a Storybook which went into detail about the do’s and don’ts of creating emails, as well as template specific rules to follow.

Email sending at Octopus didn’t use an ESP but was connected to their own interface called Kraken.
The master template held all the necessary with blocks being imported based on the need. Using Python would generate the emails for testing and upload

Octopus Energy now have solid, accessible emails and documentations that give solid foundations to independently build and maintain all their communications going forward
